Thea Ceramics Tumblers
Thea Ceramics creates contemporary, hand-thrown ceramics for everyday use on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
Sizes:
Piccolo
The Piccolo tumbler is perfect for a short black, Piccolo, short mac or espresso. The piccolo tumbler is the smaller of the three sizes at around 200ml in volume.
Flat white:
Flat white tumblers around 9- 10cm high and around 320ml in volume.
Latte:
Latte tumblers around 11cm-11.5cm high and around 460ml in volume, we think they are a perfect vessel for a large drink, hot or cold.
Glazes:
Pōuriuri, talks about the "darkest" in te reo Māori, to us we are thinking about the darkest part of the ocean or bush. This glaze is a stain glaze and a wonderfully rich contrast agents the clay.
Karamea means caramel in te reo Māori but also talk to the clay banks we have here on Waiheke Island, This glaze is a satin glaze with lovely warm, pink and peach tones, while being a classic terracotta colour.
Muka: This matte cream glaze is named after the fibre Muka that is harvested from Harakeke (flax).
ōpapa: a stain, honey toned glaze with lovely moving coverage and great warmth.
The brutalist clay is a hard wearing clay, that has a light feel and concrete look.
All Thea ceramics are hand made so sizes and colours do vary. They are dishwasher safe and are intended for everyday use.
